Wireless Communication/Prototype Development

Douglas Jackson received his BS (1998) and MEng (2001) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Louisville. As a research engineer at University of Louisville, Mr. Jackson’s previous research projects include; microchip based capillary electrophoresis / electrochemical detection, an inductively powered wireless temperature sensor, and a wireless battery-free strain gage. His other areas of interest are RF wireless and VHDL design.

 

Mr. Jackson is a design group member tasked with designing a prototype inductively powered retinal stimulator implant circuit. The prototype implant circuit will be used to generate research data for long term studies as well as aid in the design of next generation implant devices.
